Sunny Days at the Fair

Marin Sonoma Fair was - well, homegrown, sweet, professional, lots more adjectives! For me, who came and went, it was petting a fawn, a kangaroo, a lama (see their portraits attached!) and watching Casey, 5, go it alone on the huge caterpiller ride, all proud of being independent. The older boys ran off together after agreement with parental units. What a treat! Go with kids...

Note that PEF (Petaluma Education Fund) holds its annual $$ raiser this year on South McDowell just past Shollenberger - that's the extended wetlands, yes? Part of the reason we need to protect our extraordinary bird preserve...

Shollenberger Park never looked more beautiful! Later than usual spring rains have graced our bird preserve with lush grasses and mustard flowers - and dozens of nesting swans, mallards, Canada geese and those fascinating American Avocets all have babies scurrying around the shores and paths.

Hey! Nobody approved Deer Creek YET!

As of the Mon May 4th Petaluma Council meeting, Deer Creek Plaza project didn't even have its application to the City stamped - and yet PD and Argus headlines have the project practically a done deal - with a possible Friedman's no less!
